The primary goal of the Security Police & Security Officers of America (SPSOA) is to incrementally enhance the quality of life for Security Police Officers & Security Officers through skillful contract negotiation with management in order to secure fair living wages, realistic healthcare benefits and reasonable paid vacation & sick leave and to aggressively protect our members from unwarranted harassment, unjustified discipline and any form of unfavorable treatment.
The National Labor Relations Act affords employees the legal right to:
Form, or attempt to form, a Union in the workplace
Join a Union whether the Union is recognized by the
Employer or notAssist a Union in organizing their fellow employees
Be fairly represented by a Union
Guards looking to join or form a Union by way of the NLRB election can only join a 9(b)(3) Union
SPSOA is just one of a few NLRB Certified 9(b)(3) Unions in the United States Today
The National Labor Relations Act dictates that, “any individual employed as a guard to enforce against employees and other persons rules to protect property of the employer or to protect the safety of persons on the employer’s premises; but no labor organization shall be certified as the representative of employees in a bargaining unit of guards if such organization admits to membership, or is affiliated directly or indirectly with an organization which admits to membership, employees other than guards.
